Default Wondering if my connection is correct?

Ok I just bought a new TV yesterday and was reading through the manual online, since I have to wait a week. While reading the HDMI section as well as the picture calibration section I began to second guess my current setup.

My knowledge of audio is for sure lacking when compared to video. My first surround system was a Sony Dream System HTIB, and that was simple. This is my second and all I really knew was that I wanted HDMI.

I have my PS3 and my HD Moto cable box attached to my receiver and that output to my TV via HDMI. My first question is, is my current equipment attached correctly to get the best sound. And the second question, if I want to change the picture setting for different equipment such as gaming on my PS3 or HD cable, I can't do this since I only have one HDMI input going to my TV?

Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.
