I'm looking to find a 42" Panasonic 800u for around $1,000 or less on black Friday. What store is the best bet?
I live in Los Angeles. |

B&M=brick and morter (i.e. stores that have physical locations). Best Buy, Circuit City, Ken Crane's (you are in LA, so you know this name) are examples.

I thought it was Blu-ray.com not "got to love Panasonic or else.com". As for giving it 2 out of 10, that means that it did not impress ME who will ultimately be using the damn thing not to mention paying for it. So let me ask this "Panasonic Plasma Internet Police", "is it a crime to state ones opinion?". As for burn-in being the devil, it is not. How can image retention actually be the fallen angel named Lucifer from the Bible known as the "devil"? Talk about being an insipid mendicant. So, buy what you can afford that's if you're not independently wealthy. Enough said.

If it had an actual HD feed and you weren't impressed, then likely you don't like realism in your picture. Burn!!!! Ha, ha. |

This statement holds a lot less weight when given this statement.....

There may be better televisions in that price range, but 2/10 is basically saying it's a piece of junk.... c'mon now. |

I actually converted from a 1080p LG LCD to a Panasonic plasma for my home theater. Your statement is quite absurd when you offer no valid reason to back this up. ALL of the professional reviews agree that Panasonic makes the best plasmas next to Pioneer, AND the best plasmas are better than the best LCD's. I will admit that I initially thought plasma was nothing special until I decided that I wasn't satisfied with the black level of my LCD. Its not bad, but I just had the feeling I could do better. I visited a Circuit City in my area that has dimmer lighting in the television area than most stores I've previously visited(BestBuy..Cough, cough...Sears..cough) and they had a Panny in between some Sony, Samsung, JVC, and Toshiba LCD's. At first I thought, better...maybe, but barely. Then I stepped back about 15ft or so, and it was a slaughter! The black level and overall pop of the picture was all too apparent. I knew at that moment it was plasma all the way. I even gave up on 1080p and went to 768p since the 1080p Panny's were out of my price range at the time, and I don't regret it one bit! I suggest that you do yourself a favor and dig a little deeper in your research before making such a reckless statement. I've spent God knows how much time researching tv's before I settled. Almost went with a Samsung plasma, but the Panny had a sharper picture. I get nothing but compliments on my tv when people come over and most of my friends have LCD's. My one friend with a Sammy plasma prefers my tv too.

As far as getting the 800u the cheapest, find someone who has a Panasonic Purchase Program through their employer. They are dirt cheap. Local B&M's told me that they are below their cost for the 50" @ $1621.00. |
