Ordering from Amazon UK (from USA) ??? Question!

I really, really want to order some stuff from the UK Amazon that we don't have here on ours... has anyone done this before? What can I expect? Should I be weary?

In particular, I'm looking at the Harry Potter Hardcover book set, the adult editions.

Items: £66.49
Postage & Packing: £24.92

Total before VAT: £91.41
VAT: £0.00
Order Total: £91.41

I haven't ordered from Amazon UK, yet. But several times from Amazon Germany. Went smooth all the time. They offer 2 types of shipment

1> 14 Euro about 2 weeks shipping time
2> 30 Euro which is literally 2-Day UPS (even to Hawaii)

I usually buy a whole bunch to make the 30 Euro one worth it.
Actually waiting for a package to be delivered on monday

Pretty sure there shouldn't be any problems to order from amazon.co.uk either.

Awesome! I was thinking about ordering more, too... to make the Priority shipping worth it... it's about 20 GBP more, but I figure if I can find a buncha stuff then it might be worth it.

Also I am not sure if their prices are including tax, because all prices on German Amazon are. So basically I can take off about 16% of each title!

If you are not sure, try place some items in the cart and go checkout, right before you actually place the order it will show you the final totals.

Amazon.co.uk isnt comparable to .de at all


I buy regularly from the uk, no issues here. Usually takes 5-7 days for delivery and the shipping is much reasonable than that of the german counterpart. All currency is in £ (GBP) which you can convert to get a guesstimate on www.xe.com

Thanks... I was thinking about buying the set on eBay for $188 shipped, but I figured if I get it on Amazon UK then I can get it for $139 shipped... and that could also eliminate the fear of not getting exactly what I want ("misrepresented" items on eBay)...
