Default Can't Get Multichannel Analog on DMP-BD55 to Work

I know this is a specific question, but I have an Onkyo TX-DS989 receiver that doesn't decode Dolby TrueHD. Just bought a Panny DMP-BD55, and when I hook it up using the analog outs to a DB-25 terminal on my Onkyo and set the "multichannel" ON, nothing happens. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have the Panny's HDMI turned off and it is set to PCM. Like I said, I know this is a very specific question, but if anyone can help me figure out why this isn't working I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

is there a Multichannel Button on your receiver remote? ( is this what you did already?)

also, did you set to Analog Auadio Output = 5.1 in the BD player?

"when I hook it up using the analog outs to a DB-25 terminal on my Onkyo "

I don't think the DB 25 ( spec says it's a 9 ) is your audio ?? "via a built-in RS232 serial port:"

Eureka! After playing with my receiver's remote, I finially got it working. Thank you so much for the help! So at this point, I'm guessing that the sound that is coming out of my speakers is Dolby TrueHD? Boy I need a receiver that can download this stuff! Thank you for the help!

Hit the 'Audio' button on the BD remote, should pop up at the top with either "TrueHD Multi" or "DTS-HD Multi". Or my personal favorite, "PCM".
