That would be cool! I've really wanted to play this game for a long time, but my sad excuse for a PC won't let me. I wonder how censored it will be?

Maybe they should give us the choice of playing the un-censored Euro version.

The Witcher?

Really?

Umm. Great news for the AE I guess, but I'm just left wondering, did it really sell that well for the PC to warrant a console port?

Did very well on the PC. The developer put together a pretty cool video to thank those who bought the game. For those who didn't get to play this, I think it is awesome news that the PS3 is getting this.

Now all we need is gothic III and I can then move to my secret underground fallout shelter for the next 50 years.

It did very well on the PC? Well guess it must have, just odd, since it had horrible shelf-presence and had to get a rerelease to warrant the [rather nice] patch. Perhaps outside of the US market it did alot better [which really wouldn't surprise me, given the censorship that happened with the US version].

I really hate when the devs creativity is crushed in one region.. this time we performed the atrocity...

Well, I'm willing to blame Atari for it here. Haven't tried the EE yet [about to actually, given this thread], but the standard played like tripe [again, imo]. Not even the censorship, just the localization and the characterization did not appeal to me. I'm willing to concede that translating from Polish is Extremely Difficult, which might be a big part of why I didn't like it that much. Perhaps lessens the M for Marketing impression I got, but I pretty much agreed with the 0 Punct review of the game .

From what I understand, they did another pass on the dialog with the EE, so it might be better now.

One thing about this announcement, it isn't necessarily for The Witcher going to the 360/PS3. It's about a game in the same setting, at least that's what I've gotten .

Heres another article...
http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/12/02/...coming-to-ps3/

CD Projekt RED has announced today that The Witcher is headed to consoles. The game will be published by Atari in the US and most of Europe, with CD Projekt filling in the gaps. Originally released on the PC, The Witcher, is being completely remade to be "the ultimate console RPG." A lofty goal, certainly. The console version will feature the same story as its PC brother, but will have improved graphics, an improved combat system and a new subtitle: Rise Of The White Wolf.

We've heard good things about The Witcher and any new additions to the PS3's RPG lineup are warmly welcomed. We can expect to see this title on shelves during the Fall of 2009.
