Default Pressed the checkout button!

I finally pressed the checkout button on a Samsung LN46A630. Can't wait to get it! Anyone else have this TV that can vouch for it. I'm selling my old 42 LG to either my brother or one of my friends to help offset the cost. Can't wait to watch some blu's in 120hz.

120Hz = meh

to be honest i'd rather have a PJ with minimal motion blur or a plasma... no motion blur > 120Hz

But in terms of LCDs, i'd enjoy either the sammy 600 series tvs or sony z series... so nice pick on the TV, enjoy!

I know its going to be a huge upgrade from my 1080i/720p 2 year old LG. Once I saw my dads new sony XBR6 I knew i wanted a 120hz TV for my next one.

I would do a projector but that will probably be later when i get a bigger house. I like plasmas but i have a really bright room with 4 windows in it and i've always loved my LCD since i bought it. I'll probably get one down the line when i get some more money.

Yeah i've really been helping the economy lately, It all started with the PS3 and then next thing you know i've got a Onkyo 606 reciever(cause you have to have HD audio), a Polk RM6750 surround sound, then a 32" samsung A450 for the bedroom, and now a 46" samsung to replace my 42" LG. I really need to stop spending money!

Hi,
I see you have the same speaker setup as myself. How is your sub working for you? My room is not too large so it works pretty well really. (actually have to turn it down at times during some TV shows late at night ).

Just curious. Good luck with the new TV !

Its working pretty good there have been a few times were i though it was a little choppy but overall it works great. What volume do you have yours set on i got mine on about 75%. Also do you have your low pass & phase set to?

Well, the whole purpose of 120hz is to reduce or eliminate motion blur. Plasmas aren't for everyone. This is as bad as the inevitable "get a PS3!" post that comes up whenever someone has a problem with their standalone.

I too have mine at or near 75%, a bit less for TV viewing when needed. The low pass/phase I think (?) is up there pretty high as well. I haven't checked it recently so i'm not too sure exactly.

i know what 120Hz is for, I just don't like the effect it creates while achieving the solution to motion blur. My panasonic doesn't get the "video vs film" effect and it's 120Hz, so it doesnt make sense to me that so many other TVs do get that effect.

If you know, then why are you mixing up 120hz (which is the refresh rate) vs. Motionflow or Motionplus? They're two different things. Motionflow can be turned off and is the technology that interpolates frames to give it that effect you're talking about. 120hz is just the refresh rate of the set- the quicker it is, the less time each image is on the screen, thus reducing blurring.

Sorry, but I hate how people automatically assume plasmas, ps3's and onkyos are the only good choices for home theater.

So why do you have both?

LOL, I didn't say they were bad choices, but they certainly aren't the ONLY choice! In this case the guy has already made his choice, so why talk about a plasma when he has a nice LCD?

I'm a gamer, so the PS3 was a natural choice- combine that with the fact that I wasn't sure if blu-ray would survive when I bought it, I figured at bare minimum I'd have a nice game system.

My buddy has an Onkyo system and I was very impressed with it. Of the major choices I had the most experience and familiarity. Plus, I got it for cheaper than the alternatives.

As far as plasma- hell, if I could do it again I'd strongly consider it, even with the room that I have.

I know from all the reading i've been doing on here lately that seems like the only thing people are suggesting people look at when there looking for a new TV.

Well the TV finally got delivered this morning at 7 A.M. can you believe it, I scheduled it that way

but when the lady called to schedule delivery and offered that time i was like wow never heard of

anybody delivering anything at 7 A.M. I didn't have them set it up because of it still being cold from

being in the truck but the box was in excellent shape. Can't wait to get home from work now

, this day is going to go so slow i'm sure of it.

What do you plan to watch first?

I didn't see your set on tweak tv but they had a model close...

http://www.tweaktv.com/tweak-my-tv/c...ln-46a750.html

Since you can always reset the default options ... you may want to experiment with some of these.
