Default Need help picking out a TV.(DLP, LCD, Or Plasma)

Ok, i gotta upgrade to a new tv. And i don't know what kind to settle with. And i don't know when the best time to buy one is. I have my tv in the basement, no windows, so it's pitch black. And I wanna spend around $1500 give or take a hundred. I have a sony blu ray player, and hd dish. Any suggestions or tips would be awesome Thanks.

I know this is going to sound biased because I own one, but I was looking to spend about what you're looking to spend, and after a week of researching I bought my Samsung LN46A650 for $1580 shipped on amazon. All of the great reviews I read were true, this TV has insane picture quality and amazing colors.

It impresses my friends and family every time they come over, and I couldn't be more happy with it. Check one out a local best buy or CC, etc. and see what you think.
