You may be in the same boat as me and need a splitter, not switch. If so, check this out: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=70194

The 606 has the option on the receiver to send audio out to the tv via hdmi. Doesn't the 705?

I see. I've never used that option. I'm sure it's a waste of power, but I use my system for all audio.

I got the cheap passive (non-powered) one. It worked decent, but I wouls sometimes see some small white pixelation, so I took it out. I am going to get the active (powered) one soon.

Was I right in saying you need a splitter, not a switch?

Why would you want to use your TV speakers instead of your sound system?

If you want to have the 1 HDMI out from your PS3 go to both your receiver and TV, you need a splitter, not a switch. That is what I am in need of also.

Like I said above, if you want one source (that only has one HDMI out) to go to two other pieces of equipment, you need a splitter, not a switch.

I have done a lot of research on these and can't beat the monoprice price.

This is what you need: http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

Or, you could wait for this to come out for $7 more: http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

Do not get this: http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

They are both powered. The one I said not to get is not powered. The only difference is that the more expensive one is supposedly 1.3b compliant. I am waiting on a response back from monoprice as to when that one will be available. I'll let you know when I find out. If it is going to be a long time, I am going to buy the other one for $69.
