... so I was thinking has anyone tried hooking a VHS player to an HD TV a checking out how it looks :/

just a random thought

I wouldn't do that unless you want to have a heart attack from the horror of an analog very low definition picture.

It looks like a VHS. I do have a VCR hooked to my XBR4. It is through coax, so no upscaling, not that it could.

yes because *gasp* i never got DVDs of the Matrix and Indiana Jones *gasp* so i use it for those.

upgrading the matrix real soon (i have reloaded and revolutions on dvd, just not the first one)/

forgot to add, it looks pretty bad.

Looks just like standard tv channels basically(bit worse), I watch the odd VHS flick.

I've seen upconverting VHS/DVD combos. I just saw one at Costco and it was the same price as the Panasonic BD35.
I wonder how good upconverted VHS would look?

I am guessing it only upconverts the digital DVD signal, but I could be wrong. It has happened before.

I've been using a Laserdisc played with my HDTV, and it definately doesn't look that hot. Reminds me of renting some used vhs movies.
