That depends on the region encoding as to the titles selected.

Nothing really grabs me on that list, except Hellboy, which I have already picked up here in the UK (Region A,B,C). I like The Rock, but am a bit too familiar with it to want to see it again. I might, at a stretch, go for Cars, if only to hear how Michael Schumacher fares as a voice artiste!

As Blue says, it will also depend on the Region Coding for me. I live in the UK, but have a US model Panasonic. I realise that any of these discs will play on the player, but where possible I'm buying all-region discs, to guard against the scenario where I will eventually need to buy a replacement player and can only source from the UK. If that happens, I don't want to have a collection I can't play.

Cars on the latest Blu-ray sellsheet for retailers now says coming sometime this summer so it's not scheduled for 6/5 anymore. Also The Rock, Con Air & Crimson Tide is not confirmed for this date on the Blu-ray sellsheet that was sent to retailers for June according to the www.digitalbits.com the other day.

I've checked with every retailer I can find Amazon, DVDempire, Bestbuy, Circuit City, Suncoast, etc. None of them have these titles listed for 6/5.

If anyone can find any info on these titles please let me know. There are no pre-orders up for them anywhere & again every retailer I have asked about them has no info on these titles for pre-order. It's like their in no man's land.

I'd like to buy them also.

Well High Definition discs release dates are very volatile. Pixar has a movie coming out in June 29 I beieve so Cars release might me shuffled to sync with that like the Pirates BDs with their movies. Blood Diamond had been jumping weeks like video jitter, one week it was June 5 , the next it was May 29 and finaly this week it settled on June 5 again.

BTBuck1: I added the titles you wanted added.

At the moment anybody that voted already and wants his vote added to one of the titles say so.

Adminitrative Note to everybody that is making or wants to make a poll with more selectins than the poll feature allows:

If you want to have such a poll, don't create the poll when you make the post. list the poll options on the post (or make a "report" or PM one of the mods with it) and then mods can add your complete list poll to the thread so everybody then can vote for everything from the start. Also you could start the proto-polless thread in the Off Topic or Feedback sections and we move it to the Forum section you want after the poll has been added.

I see 3 or 4 on that list that I would pick up.

Speaking of Pixar - The Incredibles is one that I would definitely want.

I would buy "The Rock" in a heartbeat if it were the Criterion edition. Highly doubt it though. Regarding Crimson Tide, Con Air, and The Rock, I will consider it if BV releases the newer versions with the SF and extended cuts. Won't settle for the first edition SD on BD. Although, I am sure BV will release the titles above with some good features. Disney is doing a stand up job with BD!!

Hear, hear! I'd definitely be up for that. What company owns it? Please god, it's not Universal! Already miffed that it appears that all the classic Hitchcock US era films will be HD-DVD only.

The Incredibles is a Pixar Disney movie so it'll be only on BD.

North By Northwest, To Catch A Thief, and possibly Notorious and Rebbeca at some point etc could be some of Hitchcock movies hitting on BD

Paramount is releasing a remastered version of Thief (a VistaVision* movie) on DVD soon so maybe a BD release may be in the wings, and Warner is restoring a new 1080p master of MGM's North (another VistaVision title) for sometime next year or two.

I have most of the current Hitchcock transfers on higher resolution 576 PAL DVD

*(The Searchers BD is also a VistaVision movie)
