Default Yet another "sony needs this" thread

ok hear me out here. there are obvious hurdles/problems possible here, but i think its a great idea that needs to be looked into...

allow us to sell our psn purchases. sony needs a 2nd hand digital store.

there's a ton of psn games i'd love to try out but don't feel like spending 10+ on something i'll end up hating/not finishing..and then be stuck with. if i do it with a retail disc, no problem..it goes to ebay and i make some of my money back. plus it seems like sony never moves the price on any of the games. sure we have sales here and there...but its with games nobody wants or games that 90% of people already have. but then they shoot right back up to full price again.

they need to either gradually lower prices like retail games do. or allow us to sell the game to other ps3 users and let sony take a cut of the sale.

i realize the problem that would pop up is that nobody would buy the full price version from sony. but they could either set a minimum price you can sell for, or make a limit to how many times a game could be sold, or how many you can sell in x amount of time.

i dunno..just kinda throwing this one out there, so i'm ready to hear why this could never work. bring it on!

------

oh...and part 2 of what sony needs..old school games. most importantly..old arcade games! seriously..wtf is the hold up??

I can see where you're coming from xtop. I recently did some trades with some members here and I'm glad I did because I was able to play a lot of games I would have never played because of the price tag. I know it's only 10 bucks but those 10 bucks add up when you get a few games.

I really enjoyed their fall sell games when they released a bunch of games for 4.99, I picked up a couple there. I also think they need more demo's of them so you can at least get a feel from it.

I think it's a cool idea... but it could be a DRM nightmare trying to make sure the original owner's digital copy can't work.

Considering the games industry is currently figuring out how to get rid of official used game sales, this is but a pipe dream.

Oh hell yeah on the arcade games. All Sony has on the Network is Rampage: World Tour, Joust, Q*bert, Championship Sprint, Gauntlet and Mortal Kombat II and I'm pretty sure that MK II is the only one thats actually being played online anymore. Sony should also do some online enabled versions of its games, like Crash Team Racing. I just want to live in the past with a little bit of present thrown in for good measure (aka, online modes).

the only thing i can think of is sony takes over the right to the game, takes the other user's cash. and when everything is verified, it gets released to its new owner.

but yeah..there's tons of problems that could potentially pop up lol

At the risk of this not being appropriate to talk about (in which case it can be deleted)...

One solution is to partner up with some friends that you like to "share" your toys with. Then as a group you can decide which toys look like they are worth buying, and if you end up not liking the toy, you're only out a fraction of the cost (depending on how many people went in on paying for it).
