Blu Ray burner recommendations

Im looking to purchase an External BR Burner. I was looking at an LG that i found for around $275. I currently have an LG DVD burner that i have had good luck with. anyone have any ideas and a cheap place to get one? Also Blu Ray burners will burn standard DVD's also correct? thanks in advance

Yes it'll burn SDVD's... however, i recommend sticking with the sony's.

Sony has a 8x burner at Newegg...it cost 399.00 and its access time is slower than the LG and Lite-On. Customers also seem to be having a few problems with the Sony model (software not compatible with Vista 64 bit). When it comes to PC - I rely on LG (copyright on that phrase )! Here's a nice burner from LG and I have had no problem with any of there comptuer products nor Lite-On. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827136155 Price on this burner is $229.00! It burns at 6x speed for BD. It's also multi-platform (It will burn your standard DVD's also).
