Default What place speakers do you all have?

As I was editing the equipment in my signature I realized that I have 3rd place speakers. For example PSB has these speaker Lines in order, first being the best:

Platinum, Sychrony, Imagine, Image, Alpha.

(See Plasma TV thread to let everyone know the rank your TV)

(Dont vote or post if you think its pointless to do so)

I'll play too !!!

Dali has quite a few lines but Mine, the Dali Helicon 800's are third from the top. 1st is the Megaline and they run somewhere around $50,000. 2nd is the Euphonia MS5's and they run somewhere around $15-$16,000. 3rd, the Helicon MKII 800's are around $8,500.

The ones I have retailed for less and are MKI's = $7500, but there has been a few minor changes done to the newest models and the price was also adjusted as the dollar has taken a hit. I got a fair deal on mine as well so I lucked out good enough I will say.

I can only speak for myself, but........ I hope no one takes this thread the wrong way !!! Sometimes people take offense to these types of discussions and it can go the wrong way. A bit too serious , but in reality I think it's just harmless fun and not about outright boasting. Sometimes you just wanna see what your peers are doing. I know my speakers are a drop in the bucket compared to what others own. However it's not about keeping up with the Jones' or I at least could care less. To each there own, enjoy life while you can !!! Treat yourself to a little happiness !!!

since speaker manufactures create speakers for multiple uses, such as in-wall, 2-channel, cosmetic, satellite, etc.... it makes the question impossible to answer for many.....

JJ, for example has the 600's and I have the 700's but for multiple reasons, my bookshelf 700's aren't better than his 600 towers, just as his 600 towers aren't better than my 700 bookshelfs.... and where would the CDM, or their vintage speakers etc. fall in order of some sort of "Rank" many speaker manufacturers have been around for many years..... and B&W has a very nice line of satellites, and in-walls etc too.... and their "Nautilus" shells may be more expensive than the 800's, I doubt many would claim them to be created with the intention of being used as part of a front soundstage in a HT setup.....

I would think 3rd. I have Klipsch Reference series speakers. If you look at the listing of the different series of speakers on the Klipsch website, the Reference series is listed second. However, I would think they should come after the Heritage series, which is listed last.

Since at this point my front speakers are a one of a kind completely rebuilt and upgraded (redesigned, all new drivers, crossovers, wiring, set-up as a biwire, etc.) Dahlquist DQ-10 speakers I can not vote in this thread. Dahlquist has now been out of business since about 1994. The DQ-10s were introduced in about 1972 and were the top of line for some time before they were replaced by other speakers as the line continued to develop.

Rich

Not an easy question to answer - Originally I was 4th in the Snell line (A,B,C,E,J,K) Then 5th when Kevin added the D to the series. Then the E,J, and K models were purchased by Audio Note and the E became the Audio Note flagship (with some modifications to increase sensitivity and some crossover mods - the cabinate body is the same).

Same story with my Klipsch - Historically because of the Klipschorn - the Heritage series is viewed as the top of the Klipsch line....Until the Palladium. Now the Heritage is viewed as another group altogether. Palladium & Heritage, THX, Reference, Icon ect ect.....

Yeah - this tread is confusing ---- Wait I have an ideal, lets enjoy the speakers that we do have hmmmm
