2-Channel sound coming from PS3 when playing back MP3's... - Blu-ray Forum

Hello everyone. I'm not quite sure if this is in the right section.. but I'm going to ask anyways. When I listen to MP3's with my HT-SS2300 system from my PS3 its only 2-channel instead of full surround sound. Does anyone know how to change that? It doesn't sound TERRIBLE from the 2-ch... but it would be nice to hear music coming from all speakers.

I have the htss-2000. You need to go into the sound settings menu in the PS3 XMB and manually set it for the 2 ch. 44.1 & 48 khz settings only, no 5.1 or 7.1. Then use the AFD or music button on the htss-2300 remote to choose the sound field you like. If you have all of the codecs selected on the audio set-up menu you won't get any sound from the surround speakers when you listen to cds and mp3s and the sound field buttons will display 'not used' when pressed. You need to go back to the sound settings menu and auto select all of the codecs when you go to play a game or watch movies/tv though. Kind of a hassle, but not that time consuming.
