Default Kop's Kiwi Den

Right, been a bit of a change to the setup since last posted

Now sporting a Panasonic 60" ST30
Marantz SR5005
2 x UPA-2
New centre Polk Csi A6

Will be upgrading the mains in the coming weeks and adding a UPA-a and UMC-1 from Emotiva.

Nice set up, very clean looking, I would like to interject my opinion on your upgrade plans, please don't take offense as these are only my thoughts. I used Mission speakers for a good 10 years and really enjoyed them, again only my opinion but I don't think a move to the Paradigm Monitor line is an upgrade, I would keep the Missions unless you decide a move to the Paradigm Studio line, at least for your mains and center channel, that would be a worthy upgrade...

Thanks for the input. Appreciate it. To be honest, the decision on the Paradigm is partly based on looks too.

I would love the Studio line but the price here is just outrageous.

I had read on another forum that the Polk Rti A9 was equivalent to the lower end studio line, is that correct? I was a little dubious.

Monitor 9 Studio 60 doesn't seem to be that big a difference in price of course the 60's are on sale, maybe put them on layaway before the price goes back up. I can't comment on the Polks as I've never heard them, they are certainly priced similarly...

Thanks for the link. I have had a quote for Monitor 9 at $1400 a pair.

I fully agree with this statement after doing side by side comparaison, Unless the v7 are that much better than the v6, going towards the studios would be the way to go.

BTW. I love what you ahve done with your room and the M35i are very ebjoyable with music too, smooth with nice imaging and good soundstage for an entry level speaker I think they are nice.

Nice set-up though "I'd" be a bit weary of setting my TV on Top of my Center speaker

Thanks for the suggestion. Will have a look at the Studio line and see what sort of price I can.

Thanks for the comment also

yeah, you can tell in his pics that there are what looks like phone books or something behind the center to help support the tv.

i left you a comment in your gallery, too.

Correct. A number of books and blocks at the back.

Thanks for the comment.

ok, cool - I did see something back there, but couldn't quite make it out. as long as that's the Main support for the TV, then all should be good.

I did originally have it on a glass AV rack. Was very nervous for the week it was on there

Got a quote back for the Studio 60 and CC 490. Can work it into my budget I think

Nice. Hope you can get them!

My TV/AV Stand is steel/glass & all the components
[Show spoiler](50" Samsung DLP, OPPO BD player, Onkyo AVR, DirecTV DVR)
rest on the tempered glass shelves. It's VERY Strong though, so I have no worries. I've had it for a few years anyway.

I imagine your DLP is on the heavy side?

The ideal situation would be to wall mount it. But its a solid concrete wall behind and I don't own the place, do probably not wise.

A bit I guess, maybe 70-80+ pounds or so; but the TV stand is Very Sturdy.

Marantz SR5005 has just arrived. Warmed it up with some Twiser on BD (the good AUS/NZ version, not the rubbish NA one)

Sounds fantastic, so much more BOOM than the Yamaha. Very happy with the improvement.

Will upload some pictures shortly.

Bit of a change to the setup over the last few months.

New TV Panny 60" ST30 and new center, Polk csi A6 and the addition of the Emotiva UPA 2. Will upload some photos tonight.
