Default HDTV opinions

I am looking for help on getting the 'perfect' 1080p TV. I want a TV at around 46' maybe higher. I've seen the Sony KDL46W2000U which looks good and at the moment it's the one that I want but what do you all think? Is there any other TV you prefer? I have a budget of around £2000.

Cheers for your help!

Piglet xoxo

Oh and where can I get 7.1 speakers? I've looked around and the ones I've found are only for the PC.

Do you prefer rear-projection TVs, flat panels, or projectors? I've got a JVC HD-ILA (it's the same technology as the Sony SXRD), and I love it. Both TVs have a manually adjusted iris, where, in the video menu, you can adjust how much light you want going through the lamp. The difference between the JVC and the Sony is that the JVC has a dynamic iris, where it automatically adjusts the amount of light going through to keep the light levels as consistent as possible.

I see the JVC as more set up for movies, while the Sony was made to be more multi-functional. I do love my JVC for watching anything, movie or not, but it's strong suit is movies, especially black levels.

I'm not sure what the price is on pounds, but a friend of mine has the 40" Sony Bravia LCD, and he loves it. They make a 46" version. Sony made it to go w/ Blu-ray players.

Buy 6 identical speakers (or six by the same manufacturer) and a centre channel.

Thanks for the tip on the speakers.
So do you reckon the KDL46W2000U is a good TV or are there better ones?

i have the 40" version, which won LCD of the year in WHAT HI-FI @ £2000 and i picked it up online for £1400! The picture is awesome with all sources, even more so after a good 100 hours run in. i would definitely get the 46" if i had the space.
