is there a way to hook up your pc to your ps3 so i can use the ps3 to rip my blu ray into my pc i am going to get a multimedia hard drive so i can put my movies and videos i was just wondering if this is possible

Not really, unless you has some sort of component inputs or HDMI input on the computer that were HDCP compliant - they exist but they ain't cheap.

Secondly, ripping a Blu-ray is a tabu subject here at Blu-ray.com, so I'm guessing when a Mod sees this thread, it will be removed.

Don't see it even working, but have never tried it. hooking up your computer wouldn't matter. If it was possible you could rip the bd to the ps3 hdd. However the ability of ripping blurays is hard to do or even not possible. Maybe someone else knows.

You would have to find something that runs on Linux and have a Linux setup on your PS3. A BD-ROM drive is fairly inexpensive now so it would be alot easier to get one for your PC and do it there.
