Red face Guru with a noob question!

My CRT recently crapped out because i didnt have it on a surge protector, It's now being repaired. I just replaced it with a Samsung LN40650. It's still in the box because i haven't bought a surge yet. my question is, what amount of joules does the surge protector need to be to adequately protect my 40" 650? would a surge protector with a 900 joule rating be good enough?

Thats what i was thinking. the 900 and 1200s are kinda skimpy looking.
