Default Download subtitles???

Any BD out now or coming out soon allow subtitle downloads. I live in japan and when I watch movies with my JP friends but I can see that it's hard for them to understand the dialect. Maybe 2 of my about 600 DVDs and none of my about 40 BDs have JP subtitles.

Downloadable subtitles will be enabled only with BD-Live players. It doesn't work with DVD either.

The studios are looking into it, but even when they do finally start using it I think it'll be limited what subs you'll be able to get. The main problem is that right now the disc itself has to support downloadable subs, so even when you do get them you'll only be able to do it for new discs. Hopefully one of the player makers will come up with a design that allows for user created subtitles to be played alongside a movie.
