Hiya,

I watched "Contact" - Jodie Foster, Tom Skeritt, John Hurt et al. last night on Sky Movies HD. It looked to be a very nice transfer indeed. Very clean and sharp, the astronomical effects really came to life compared to DVD. So maybe this is one to look out for from Warner Bros at some time in the (Near???) future.

Hopefully it will be joined by "Forbidden Planet", "Perfect Storm", "V for Vendetta" etc...

This is my most hated movie of all time. Now, that is just my opinion but I would like to see the PQ in certain scenes.

This movie certainly was not everyone's cup of tea. It just happened to be mine. I hope this does eventually find it's way on Blu-ray. ^^

the movie was GREAT. until the ending. worst ending to any movie ever, and if you say u liked the ending u must be jodie faster or the guy who played her dad. stupid. i remember thinking to myself, wow that movie could have been one of the best ive ever seen. until the end. try and name a movie with a worse ending! it's not possible to

One of my all-time fave sci-fi films!
It would be interesting to see it in HD on Blu since the standard DVD looks quite good, albeit a little soft-looking.

Will Smith and Kevin Kline riding a giant mechanical spider off into the sunset. A horrid ending to the worst movie I have ever seen in my life.

And yes, CONTACT should be given a Blu-Ray Edition. A true sci-fi classic, and something that would both look and sound great in 1080p and lossless.

I really liked the movie. I think that what made it great is that it probably is the way it would happen.

I'm a big fan of the book and the movie also. I have the dvd and watched it not too long ago, and I thought how cool the opening scene would be in blu. Hopefully the source is good. The dvd I bought back in '99 looks dated for a late 90s film.

Default Email Warner Bros.

Everyone, please send an email to WB and urge them to release Contact on Blu-ray. I emailed the Carl Sagan website about this matter and they sent a quick response stating that they too will help in this matter. Email carlsagan.com as well.
