Default Just Hooked Up My 2nd Sub

I was having issues with my bass travelling upstairs. After searching for a solution to this for days I had an epiphany. Clearly the only way to solve this was to buy another sub. Granted it was just the Polk PSW108 for $99.99, but I couldn't pass it up.

So I did all my research on how to hook up 2 subs, positioning, calibrating, etc. while waiting for it to arrive. I bought the cables and cleared the space for it. It finally came today! I was literally waiting in the driveway when it arrived. A few minutes later Transformers: Dark of the Moon scene 17 was blasting. A little bit more tweaking and I'm good to go. Awesome!

Seems like you were excited about getting another sub, and it sounds like you love it..

Congrats!!!

I am wondering how having two subs helped with lowering the noise from going upstairs?

Having two subs helps stop noise from travelling upstairs because its my house, so it's my rules. If they want to be loud I can be louder! I'm just kidding. My tenants are great and do spend most of their time out, so it's not really an issue. When they are home we respect each other enough to not blast stereo's.

You should try running at least 4 subs, if you really want to be blown away.

Two subs are nice, but they really don't get the job done.

I don't feel the need for more subs. I feel my bass is fine as is. Glad you like 4 subs, but we all don't need them.

Oh yes you do.

Contrary to what you might think, it's not about gaining more output.

Four subwoofers is the optimum number to have in any HT.
Why?
Because you'll get the smoothest bass response, from seat to seat and it will negate most standing waves.

That's absurd. You're better off spending your money on some better speakers instead. I find it a little funny that you've bought 2 expensive subs on top of the other 2, but are rocking a pair of low end Polks.
