TDK should have taken which film's place for Best Picture? - Blu-ray Forum

Okay, so let me be clear here. I would have had no problem if The Dark Knight had not won Best Picture. However, I am uoset, especially after looking at the films that were nominated, that TDK did not even get a nomination. So I want to know if you think TDK should have gotten a Best Picture nod today, and which of the five nominees you think it should replace.

The Wrestler should definitely be on there. I definitely think it deserves at least a nomination, along with The Dark Knight.

Mickey Rourke needs to win.

It never had a chance to be nominated as best picture. When it comes down to it it is still a superhero movie. Best picture nods always go to dramas. So I don't see why anyone is surprised that it didn't get nominated.

, I'm hoping for The Curious Case of Banjamin Button to take the oscar now, the rest is just crap.

Wow, I just looked at rottentomatoes.com...The Reader only has a rating of 60%, unbelievable

Both The Wrestler and TDK are in the high 90's. As well as all the other Best Picture nominations.

I saw The Wrestler and I agree. Did not think that Rourke had it in him, but he did a fantastic job!

Yeah well a lot of people don't. Me? I don't care for them. But I can't deny the fact that when someone or some movie wins an oscar that it is an honor. I respect them but a lot of the time I disagree with them.

Exactly right on both counts guys. I wasn't surprised. I didn't even expect it to be nominated no matter how good it is. It's very rare that the Academy even nominates a well known decent picture for the award. The nominations and the award usually go to something obscure or a movie with some sort of cultural relevance such as AIDS or racism.

Correct. It's mostly an action film. However at some parts through out the movie it seems like a drama.

its impossible to answer if you have not seem them all....soooo, none....Ill trust the academy until I see them all....TDK was fun and the Joker was iconic, but I dont think it deserves best picture....
