Default Blast From the Past (1999)

I'm not into a lot of romantic comedies, but this is one of the better ones I've seen. Aside from the language and sexual references, I really enjoy it. The whole notion of a man raised in a fallout shelter becoming attracted to a jaded, cynical '90s woman is actually interesting, and I'm very thankful that the film keeps most of the cruder stuff at bay.

Brendan Fraser and Alicia Silverstone are both great, as are Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek as Fraser's parents. Dave Foley provides some good comic relief, and Nathan Fillion has a small appearance as Silverstone's ex-boyfriend. Most of the film is based on the contrast between a "more innocent" 1962, and all the "norms" of 1990s life that everyone but Adam (Fraser) takes for granted. I'd really like to see this released on Blu-Ray, hopefully with a decent amount of extras; who's with me?

Yes I want this movie quite a bit, along with Bedazzled and George of the Jungle from Brendan Fraser's backlog.

One of m favorites. A lot of the older Brendan Frasier films are taking way too long to come out on blu ray.

I remember the bomb shelter scenes being hilarious. It was great when Christopher Walken came up into a modern day ghetto, and thought the world really did end.

If they Blu-Ray it, I would buy it.

I thought one of the funniest moments with Walken's character was
[Show spoiler]at the end of the film, when he was still convinced the Communists had faked the end of the Cold War, and started planning a new shelter in the huge back yard.
