Default Confused About Bond Releases

So I'm a little confused about the Bond releases, I was hoping someone could clarify. Is the following right?

Already released (regular and steels):

Casino Royale (only regular)
Dr. No
From Russia With Love
Thunderball
Live and Let Die
For Your Eyes Only
Die Another Day

Soon to be released next month (regular and steels):

Moonraker
Goldfinger
The World Is Not Enough
Quantum of Solace (only regular)

Ok, so here's where I'm confused, I saw Never Say Never on Amazon and this site to be released Mar. 24 -- is that the only one I didn't know about or are there more that have a release date? And will this one be a steel?

you're correct in everything. Never Say Never is unsure whether we'll get a steelbook release and that appears to be the whole kit and kaboodle. They aren't releasing another 3 pack of bonds like they did with the first release.

That's probably the only other one, and I'm guessing it wasn't lumped in with the others becase it wasn't considered and "official" Bond release.

Worm,

Ya confused me when you said they aren't releasing any 3 packs like before...

My collection so far has been with the 3 packs... and Casino is seperate and I suppose QoS will be seperate too. They had better plan to keep releasing those 3 packs or ... .or.... I'll at least be dissappointed.

Ok, thanks, I had read something here on the forums about it not being an official Bond movie so I guess that's why it's sort of a stand alone release. I just thought I had missed something because they usually release 3 at at time.

Moonraker, Goldfinger, and The World is Not Enough will constitue the Bond Vol. 3 pack. Never Say Never Again is not an "official" bond title so it will not be in a 3 pack like the other titles.

How can they keep releasing 3-packs and release all 20 movies?

6 3packs = 18 movies. What about last 2?

The Bonds should have been released on four 4 packs just like the remastered oldray DVDs. I have the DVD sets. I am in the process of upgrading to Blu-ray. To be honest, the DVD artwork was much more sleek and attractive compared to the BD artwork. Still, at least we have the option for standard BD packaging, multi-packs, and steelbooks.

Yeah.

I have only 5 JB movies on dvd. I'm not a real fan of those 3-packs, so I'll wait until they release all parts in one set or start buying all movies individually.

I'm too lazy to look it up.... but "Never Say Never Again" in addition to not being an official "Bond" release..... is not owned by MGM like the actual Bond movies..... so given the fact that it's a different studio, I'd be surprised if the cover art, case etc (esp. Steelbook) matches the rest of the set. I have all of the Bond DVDs, and Never Say Never Again.... and the spine is different a little, but they tried to "steal" the look of the Bond films..... I'm guessing a lot more of it will be copywrited this time.

Well, now they do. That was part of all the nasty lawsuits in the late 90s that finally culminated in EON Productions securing perpetual film rights to all Ian Fleming properties (including "Casino Royale" and "Thunderball"). It was Kevin McClory's ownership of the film rights to Thunderball that allowed Never Say Never Again to be made and to compete with Octopuššy the same year.

At work I noticed that we got a James Bond Blu-ray 3 pack. Its different from the "offical" 3 BD packs. It comes with Quantum of Solace and it also has License to Kill and The Man with the Golden Gun. Both older movies aren't on Blu yet so I guess if you can't wait for their single release you can pick up the box set. Not sure if its a Best Buy exclusive or what but don't think I've seen it anywhere else. The packaging is just all 3 movies in regular blu cases in a box(like the pirates trilogy)
