I recently made a bet with someone for 100 bucks that at the end of Castaway

I just watched this on tv the other night and it didn't ever show what was in the package, atleast I never saw it if they did.

I believe in the movie the package is never opened, however I have read/seen somewhere (I dont remember) that the contents may have been a satellite phone (or something along those lines).

Pretty crazy!

edit: apparently there is an easter egg on the dvd that may have the answer.

That is from a commercial making fun of cast away. It ends with him in the middle of a 4 way intersection deciding which way to go.

The assumption is that there is some form of artwork/metalwork in the package. It is never opened but based on scenes at the beginning and at the end of where the package was shipped from/to, the artwork is implied.

Plus, I never understood why he took the package back to the person that shipped it instead of delivering it. If the lady was the recipient and not the shipper, then why did the box have her "butterfly" emblem on it?

Nevertheless, great movie.
