Default Speaker Wall plate locations

Ok I am about to start running wire/Wall plates for my speakers. The front L & R are no problem as they will be mounted in line with the power outlets(same height). I am wondering about the surround(L&R) and back(L&R) wall plates. Should they also be mounted in line with the power outlets, or mounted higher to avoid having any wire showing?

I guess it all depends on whether I am using bookshelf or towers for surrounds? I could put the wallplates the same height and get some speaker stands where I can route the wire through the stand.

I'm just fishing for ideas.
