This is one of the most beautifully animated films ever, and absolutely deserves a 4K UHD. Wasn’t it released in 70mm?

I'm hoping for better covers for the steelbook and the digipack. They should just use Eyvind Earle's art.

That cover looks - to put it bluntly - wrong. I'd rather buy the Platinum Edition on Blu-ray, thank you.

Another thing: has anyone noticed that this is the first year where five titles of Disney's most "prestigious" home media line have been released instead of (for the most part) two?

I would recommend the Platinum Edition regardless. In my opinion it is the best Blu-ray release Disney ever made.

They're probably in a hurry to get them out before the online service launches.

Yech... I like the Diamond cover with Briar Rose, which I think was a prior render since US got the pink dress version.

The Platinum Edition had the best cover IMO.

Not the Sleeping Beauty 1997 VHS or laserdisc covers? Now those were the best!

Cinderella wasn't a pointless release when it got one of the best bonus features ever in an audio and video commentary.

BBY Diamond exclusive lenticular IMO. Too bad the Platinum was the best release.

This new cover is terrible. It is like she is in church standing with her eyes closed. Maybe her and Maleficent are in the same pew.

I agree that the Deluxe Edition LD/Best Buy Diamond slipcover is the best cover art for the film, though I admit I have a soft spot for the Masterpiece Collection art.

It doesn't accurately represent the film since it has a very pastel color scheme as opposed to the film's deeper, richer tones, but I find it really beautiful.

Likes others have said, I'm really interested in seeing what the Signature's Best Buy and Target art looks like as the general release one is the laziest thing Disney's done since Snow White's. Disney threw around a bunch of concepts for the Platinum Edition art back in 2008 before deciding on a redone version of the 2003 Special Edition. Any one of these with a little bit of tweaking would be better art than what this new Signature got:

It's obvious Disney's flat-out dumping this and 101 Dalmatians on Blu again just to get this collection over with before the arrival of Disney+. I wouldn't be surprised if Jungle Book dropped shortly after.

ah, that explains it then, it's a title where UHD could really make sense, so of course, it's one of the ones to not get a UHD

Any differences between this one and the original or just another pointless re-release like Cinderella?

Based on what evidence? We won't likely even have a press release for another 6 weeks much less anything tangible
