Best way to clean a Blu-ray disc?

I bought a used movie from Ebay and it has a few finger prints on it. Just wondering what is the best way to clean a BD disc on the side the laser reads from. Are there any no-no's? I've never bought a used disc before so this was the first time I actually had to worry about greasy fingerprints! Thanks.

A very soft cloth. Unless you have a lot of dust or dirt, you really don't need a cleaner, just a very un-scratchy cloth. You can pick one up specifically for this at any retail store, but a nice soft t-shirt will do the trick.
Blu's are pretty tough to scratch, so you don't have to baby them too much. But I won't leave them lie around either.

Just breathe on it like how you would clean prescription glasses and use your shirt to wipe off the debris.

I use a soft chamios (or however you spell it) cloth on mine and that does the trick.

Yeah, just blow steam on it from your mouth and wipe off with any soft cloth. I use a bandanna.

This is what I do, but I'm becoming concerned. It's almost too easy. I guess I shouldn't worry. The hot air from my mouth is just water, after all.

I just use a microfiber glasses cleaning cloth and some lukewarm water. I usually use a spray bottle filled with water on the finest mist that the bottle can provide and spay the cloth once or twice that's it.

I've decided to try the type of fine microfiber cloth used for eyeglasses and camera lenses. For fingerprints and smudges that are more set in, I'll try a mild rubbing alcohol-water mix applied with the type of microfiber cloth used to clean screens. I imagine this should keep my discs quite clean.

I just put it under water, and use a really soft cloth to dry it. Seems to work for me.

I was wondering how the rest of you clean the playable surface of your blu-ray discs without scratching them.

Occasionally, discs that I order, even new ones, have little specs of lint or markings such as light fingerprints (or they attract such things). How do you clean the surface of the discs without scratching, scuffing or otherwise marring the finish?

Blu-rays have a scratch resistant coating on them, and they're very easy to clean. I just mix 1/4 of rubbing alcohol and the rest with tap water in a spray bottle and, wipe the disc with a non-abrasive soft cloth, and the disc will look brand new. You don't have to waste money, and buy one of those expensive DVD/CD cleaning solutions, or a DVD/CD cleaning machine kits. You can get a small bottle of rubbing alcohol from any dollar store for a $1.00, if you don't already have a bottle in your household. The only way to scratch a blu-ray, is when it's been cleaned by using a buffing machines or it's been severely mishandled and carelessly abused from negligence.

I'm surprised by the number of blu-ray discs I receive from new orders that, despite the coating, arrive with scratches and scuffs on them. I'm sure it's partly an issue of quality control at the production facilities the studios use. This seems to occur more often with titles issued from some studios than others.

Where are you buying your blu-rays from because, there's a possibility they might have been previously opened, manhandled and resealed. I've purchased a lot of brand new blu-rays, and I've never received one that was tarnished, or scratched. Some used blu-rays that I ordered had some fingerprints, but not scratched, but most of my used blu-ray were in mint condition when I received them.

Could it work to remove the solution on the disc from a cleaning solution spray? I used to srayed on my Blu-Ray disc for awhile and now I realized It stayed there and I can't remove it.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I didn't want to create a similar new one unnecessarily.
I recently bought a boxset (digipack) and every single disc was stuck inside the cardboard sleeve with glue that had obviously seeped down from the edges of the packaging. The sticky substance is on the print/picture side of each disc (thankfully), but just wondering what people would recommend to get rid of the glue? I don't want to use anything too harsh. None of the discs are too bad, but I'm paranoid about it gumming up the works inside the player!

Any suggestions would be welcome!
