well the stanley cup playoffs are in high gear .. and after some great game 7's of round 2 , llooking forward to the conference finals . out EA comes with a tidbit about NHL 2010

Players caught in a tussle in pro hockey simulation NHL 10 will throw punches and yank jerseys from a first-person perspective, Electronic Arts says in a statement.

The publisher says this year's NHL game will focus on a "physical brand of hockey," and will include more than 200 refinements compared to last year's wonderful NHL 09 game.

Among some of the changes, players can "one-time loose pucks, score from their knees, knock pucks out of the air and lift a leg to fake a shot on goal." NHL 10 is also adding a new precision passing mechanic that lets players bank passes off the boards.

so far iam loving the new ideas .. one time loose pucks ... awesome ..

sweet it should be out september 8 2009. I hope they fix the onetimes they need to be more effective and the aiming is a little aukward i seem to shoot the puck over net alot(its weird having to aim towards your goalie to keep the shot low)

I have NHL2k7 still in its clear plastic wrapping, untouched, unloved. So this game probably isn't high on my want list

the fact its 2k it should be unloved .. 2k cant seem to figure out how to put their skaters skates on the ice .. very floaty game that fact alone kills it otherwise it would likely be a contendor


and to aim low you have to hit down as you release the shot to keep it low . ihave no problems putting the puck where i want it about 90% of the time ..

if you are attacking in the southern direction on your tv aiming down ward will fire the puck high

oh yeah i play where im always going up in single player so ... there is an option to change that though so that the controls stay the same even when you change sides .. so even when you are skating down you would still push up for a high shot and down for a low shot ..

Same. I'm sick of Crosby and I'm sick of Detroit's style of play being trying to push the rules as far as they can without getting called for it.

well ill give them credit the strides they have been makingfrom one year to the next in hockey is certainly better IMO than their other games ..the last 2 years of hockey has been a lot better than years past.. but lets see some all star weekend treatment .. thats the one thing i like with the 2k series .. all the all star mini games ...

I'm looking forward to it, just like every year . I really want it so that the puck doesn't feel like a magnet to your stick as well. Also, It would be nice that when you crash the net / goalie , that the net would actually get dislodged or at least moved a little bit. Would be nice to have player participate in scrums, pushing / shoving etc. It's all about the subtle changes / differences to make this game better.

You can go to visual settings and change is so that camera view for Home team is either always up or always down. If not there , you can go to the actual control scheme layout and in the top right there should be an option for you to change it so you are always shooting up / down.

thanks silver i knew someone would know where the option was .. i knew it was there .. i tried it when i first got the game but it actually seemed to make it more confusing for me so i went with always skating UP ... i know its cheap but its the CPU so who cares .. BTW i really loved the online with the created skater and all , i hope to see some more done with that .
