Vista sucks! I'm sticking with XP until it either gets better, or i'll just keep XP for good. Haven't decided yet. For that matter, XP isn't much better. I'm serioulsy thinking of going to linux for my main general purpose PC.

My father works for the government.

Until this month, they have always relied on Microsoft Outlook's package for business communications.

Now, with Vista being so expensive, they have decided to move to another company for all mail. This upset a fair number of people, but the price of the new Vista services was just too high, and there are too many problems.

Yep. Lawsuits are being formed against governments as we speak .. for wasting tax payers dollars on Office and Windows when there are cheaper of even free alternatives available that are based on open standards. If they won't switch of their own volition, they are going to be forced to do so..better if they just realize it themselves instead of being sued by their constituents for wasting taxpayers dollars.

Why should I be paying taxes for my government to spend billions and billions of dollars when there are free alternatives available? And why should you? At the same time they are claiming not enough money is available for health care or education? So Steve Ballmer can have another yacht while our schools crumble and people can't get timely medical care?

It's just irresponsible of governments not to be using Open Office in particular and eventually switching to Linux.

I've realized that when dealing with M$ software and os, its better not to upgrade early, and wait till its less crappy (dont get me wrong its always going to be crap but). ima stick with xp for atleast a year before i even consider upgrading to vista.
