Anyone know if this version is the same as the US version, except with the non digibook case?

ERA Distributes Sony movies in HK and AFAIK, they are usually ports of the US disc (maybe with different subtitles).

I originally bought the HK version, but upon realizing something is amiss, I immediately sold it and got the US version.

The HK (Asian) version have NO English subtitles whatsoever, and I find that hard to believe... it seems Sony Asia employs a bunch of idiots for their BD division.

Also, the HK version has at least one less special features as compared to the US version. I think it is the face-to-face split screen interview with Peter Seller, and The Art of Stanley Kubrick are missing from the HK version.

If you are interested in this movie and want it all in it, do not buy the HK version.

The movie is in English anyway, so the only reason to include English subtitles would be for the hearing-impaired. Is that why you're complaining?

You can say that, but it is just me and, I still want English subtitle in it just to know everything is said in the film. Besides, some of the extras are missing from this Asian version, so why bother?

I am just curious, so why don't you just buy the US version? I did, and I like the digibook design!

Well some of us don't, for various reasons. Specifically, I don't like it because it's taller than a standard blu-ray case and doesn't fit on the shelving that I'm using for BDs.

I just don't like the digibooks. I think its a rehash of the stupid Warner cardboard cases that infected early DVD sales. I just want the movie - studios can keep the book. If the Japanese version is the same as the US, I have no problem buying it just to have the correct Blu-ray case and official sleeve.

I can understand where you stand on this, in some ways I agreed, yet it doesn't bother me as much.
