Default Blu-rays that look like UHDs

What are some Blu-Rays in your collection that looked so good that you thought they were actually 4K discs. I am watching Noah and it looks better than some UHD's in my collection and some Arrow releases I have seen like Sixteen Candles and The Thing also look like 4K discs because of how well encoded theh are.

Many blu-rays look very good and I'm still wow'd by them, but the HDR on 4K UHD discs is another level. I think it's more of a "you don't know what isn't there" situation on when watching a BD.

None. UHDs knock blus out of the park, and it'sd clearly visible, if not from detail then by the HDR.

Agreed, there is no equivalent to the HDR contrast and color on a 4K vs a standard blu ray.

I think some are fooled by cranked up contrast and oversharpening on some blu rays - which is fine if that works for them.

I'm a gigantic whoor for UHD but watching Arrow's RoboCop BD is the closest I've gotten to dat fourkay feeling from a regular BD. Not that the dynamic range looks anything like HDR would do but the detail and grain, oh mai. So lush.

Arrow's Waterworld release is brimming with detail. You certainly forget you're watching a mere disc.

Criterion’s Silence of the Lambs looks so incredible, I wonder how an actual UHD of that master would look.

I would argue that EL CAMINO looks like a 4K UHD without HDR. I was pretty sour that they went BD only for the film, but hot damn, they went as close to the 4K wall as they could with it.

And when you compare it to a 4K disc, the 4K is much better.

Have not seen any bluray that handle grain like good 4K UHD does.
