Default HELP: Missing codes for most digital copies

Hi guys, so here's the deal: I have about 170 blu-ray movies and tv series. This whole time, I've been just throwing away ALL the paper inserts that come inside the case, without even looking at them (habit).

So yesterday I tries to put a movie on my ipod for the first time and it asked for that code.

I don't have any of the codes for any of the movies that I bought that have digital copies. Am I out of luck or will I be able to replace those codes?

Would I have to contact each individual movie company separately?

Thanks so much.

WOW...I would believe your S.O.L.
I wouldnt even know who to call. If you called the movie company for example, why would they give you a code? I'm not trying to sound rude, I swear; but it would be hard for them to believe you that you really lost the code. You know what I mean? It's kinda a catch 22 situation.

I hope you get some codes back though. And from now on, dont throw the paper away.

I know, it sucks...but try giving some companies a call, you never know what will happen.

Wow, I'm feeling a mix of pity and incredulous ridicule right now.

Maybe you'll be a little more careful about what you throw away in the future. I understanding tossing the "important notice" inserts, but not even glancing at what you're throwing out was pretty dumb. What's even more sad is it took you 170 Blu-rays in to realize you were screwing up.

I hope you can get your codes back, but if you don't iTunes has the digital copies for $9-14.99.

I didn't have an ipod before so never had use for the digital copies. That's why it took me so long to find out. But obviously I'm not just going to throw away the inserts anymore.

That's really rough man, sucks to be you.

Hmm, you could use torrents to get them. Since you already paid for the DCs it's not stealing.

If all the movie companies need a copy of a receipt then I might be in trouble. Wish I could just show them a picture of my blu-ray collection. I'm obviously not a pirate. I have 170 blu-ray.

Blu, can you list the Blu-rays with Digital copies you have?

If I have any of them I can PM you the code. I don't use the digital copy stuff at all, but I generally don't throw ANY of the paper away. I'm assuming any correct code is fine, right? It's not specifically tied to one disc is it?

If you post your list, some people might be able to help you. I don't use mine, but I think only a few movies I have come with a digital copy. I also thought that some of them expire after a while, so if you don't use them they are no good after a while.

What I've been seeing lately is that digital copy codes tend to be good for a year from the date of the release (the copy coming with Pinocchio, for example, would expire on 3/10/10).

I'm failing to see a problem here. You're within your legal right to create your own digital copies of movies you purchased. There's plenty of software to do this, and most of it is free. This whole "digital copy included" thing is just a big scam imo.

Exactly.

And I hate how studios try to advertise it as something great.
Oh and don't get me started on those who put 2-Disc Special edition and it turns out the second disc is only the digital copy.

There is software that lets you make digital copies of blu-ray? Do you need to have a blu-ray drive?
