Default Onkyo vs Pioneer

What do you think is better on paper, the New Onkyo 607 or the Pioneer 1019?

Well.................
I guess that answers this thread.

I have only had pioneer elite receivers but am willing to try others. Actually if I can get a good deal on one that supports DTS HD, I'll be ok. I'm pretty happy with my pioneer but like I said, I have nothing to compare it to.

I started out with Onkyo and the make a good product the x05 series was classic. After owning an 806 for like a week and having it die.I moved on to Pioneer and am now really satisfied.I have to say the 1018 can hold its own against even the 805 in my opinion. You should maybe check out ebay there have been some great deals on the sc-o5 and 07 elites lately with the sc-05 going for as low as 799 shipped.

yeah you can get some good deals on ebay, but if your one of the unlucky ones that has a problem, your SOL. Receivers have to be bought from authorized dealers in order to receive warranty.

to OP: between the 2 you listed id go with the pioneer.
