When I stick the disk in, it says that my blu-ray player requires an update to play this disk. It tells me to go to blu-raydisk.com/forbestresults. One problem: THE WEBSITE DOESN'T WORK!!
So what the hell do I do? Do I have to send it in? Or is it an easy update over the internet? |

what player do you have?
Have you searched for the firmware here? Click on the firmware tab on the location bar above and select your Blu-ray player. Then, follow the link to downloads.com and download the right firmware. Depending on the player, you can either, burn an iso image and put it in your player, or, you can unzip the download and save it to a flash drive and plug it into the back of your player. You may also run an ethernet cable to your router and directly download the new version. My suggestion is the USB flash card...its the easiest. |

And.. The "Disc" is not spelled "Disk". The URL should be: http://www.blu-raydisc.com/forbestresults.html SO BEFORE WRITING IN ALL CAPITALS.. Check the URL and then check again ![]() |

That's a big issue over here - I see people advising people to update their firmware...and that's good info - for the non PC world, because that's the usual problem in the standalone/ps3 world. In the PC world those messages usually indicate the need for a program update for the software player - not the hardware drive. I have yet to do a firmware update on my drive

My older discs play fine... no keys were banned. As with many newer discs, STB and computer software, we *ALL* get to update. STB players get *firmware* - which is or includes software updates. Computers get software updates. No firmware for this drive yet. ![]() I still have an older version of ArcSoft that was playing everything fine before I tried this new trial. |
