that's your call. i personally only buy new, but that doesn't mean its not a great deal with the 1 year warranty.

Be wary, it most likely was living in Torch mode. I would only consider it if they threw in a free extended warranty for 2-3yrs or at teh very least heavily discounted. That being said, it's an LCD, so I'm not as concerned about Torch Mode as I would be if it were a Plasma.

Why not go to:
http://www.6ave.com/shop/home.aspx

why not go to this site and see what they want for a new one. They are an authorized dealer and you will get the factory warranty. That is how I got mine and saved a ton

I'd get it (well, I personally wouldn't, but if I were you, and wanted a new LED, then I'd get it)

Regardless of what mode it was in, you'll never own that T.V. long enough to "burn it out" for hours of usage...... people worry too much about that, and it's really a non-issue.

The fact that they are saying you have to get the calibration is just them wanting to add on to the sale.... although I'd recommend getting a calibration, I'd recommend finding someone certified outside of Best-Buy... you may pay the same price, but I'm willing to bet not all ISF Certified calibrators are equal....... and if you don't want it (not a 'must' ) then they shouldn't push so much....

O.K. on second thought.... them pushing to tack on calibration as a 'necessity' is just shady..... don't buy from them....... I digress

No way you should give them $300 for doing that. Spend the $300 on movies.

That's not a calibration, it's simply a setting adjustment, but should be good enough for your needs. However, if they don't ditch the $300 calibration, I'd quickly walk away.
