Huh. I didn't expect Sony to jump into the cloud computing bandwagon so soon. Still, I just hope this, along with OnLive, doesn't suffer from input lag and hopfully, doesn't eat up your monthly bandwidth (if they decide to put game streaming on this).

I think they're just experimenting with it just in case it does become a viable option sometime in the future (PSN games could benefit immediately perhaps?)

I think cloud has something to do with information stored on the internet.

Its marketing jargon, they bring it around every so many years it fails every time yet it gets repackaged and tried again, and it fails again, renamed and repackaged..

Perhaps one day it will die..

Perhaps the marketers will be able to figure it out one day.

But what I see is them building infastructure, perhaps even setting a standard for content and radio and how its treated and how others may treat and use it.

Or maybe everyone trusts all there sensitive data to Sony and step 3 profit.

apple is already charging for a cloud service and microsoft has a free beta service going.

when did they try this before? i don't remember that lol

if you know anything about MobileMe it's just like that. It's so you can sync your iPhone, and computers together.

An email goes to the "cloud" then goes to all the products at once. Also if you add contacts to your computer and send them to the cloud they are sent to the other computers and phone automatically... so you don't have to do the work more than once.

Default The console gaming dream is over!

That's it for me. Playstation is officially done. No more playstation 4 or 5 & beyond. I called it first.

I will now plan to stock up on a couple ps3s & get other consoles. I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel. No consoles means no more fun times.

WTF are you talking about? Just because sony got a trademark doesn't mean they're using it for the PS3... They do make computers. Even if they make it for the PS system I seriously doubt they'll be stopping system production with the PS3.

Isn't this PS Cloud same as Onlive?

If it's similar then I'm done. Ps3 will live on.

I don't think the PS brand is going to go away so soon. Its pretty much Sony's most profitable division. I don't think that they are gonna implement PS Cloud in the same way as OnLive, i.e. no game streaming.

If this is done right this could be really good for Sony! They could allow you to put your save data on their online accounts. Or some streaming of games and files, etc. This could also help them make ground on OnLive if it is successful because they will have everything in place to expand it if needed.

cloud computing is perfect for the psp. don't think its well suited for stuff like the ps3, which is why onlive will die a terrible and fast death
