Default PS3 better than high-end HTPC's .. for the doubters

on the Cell processing capabilities..

http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/...ut/default.asp

Link may come in handy for those need convincing..it's something a PS3 owner already knows...

"The PlayStation 3 is one of the surprise winners in this round-up. Not only does the PlayStation 3 offer Blu-ray playback support, but its DVD upsampling and detail enhancement with Hollywood movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean is better than even the best HTPC solutions from NVIDIA and AMD."

Love this line..

"At the moment, however, Sony does use the Cell processor to provide advanced DVD upscaling beyond the traditional bilinear filtering."

I replaced my HTPC with a PS3 last November.

I love it. I don't miss the HTPC at all. On the contrary,.. I looked at building a HTPC that would have BluRay capabilities and it would have cost far more then the PS3 and would have been a hassle to setup as well.
