Default White Lines/Flickering On Side Of Screen

I have a Sony BDP-N460 and everytime I play a blu ray, there are constant flickering white lines on the left side of the screen. However, the lines do not appear at the blu ray player menu. I have checked to make sure everythings plugged in right, and still does it. Any tips?

has this always occured when using this player or is this something new?
did you update the firmware?
does it happen when you play a DVD disc?
have you changed any settings in the player setup menu or the a/v processor/receiver or on the TV itself that might account for this behavior? It kinda sounds like a scaling issue.

I use to live in far rockaway a long time ago, what part of Queens are you in?

I've tried it with all default settings as well as custom settings. I just got it so I've only tried 3 discs. I still need to connect it to update the firmware. I also noticed, at least on the dark knight disc 1, the lines appear during the film, but when I go into bonus features (also in HD) the lines don't appear.

I actually live in jersey now, but I used to live in jamaica

if you "just got it" and you have a receipt and are inside the return policy, i'd recommend exchanging it for another on or for a refund and get something else. i'd also tell you to try a different hdmi cable (if you have one also if you have a component cable, give that a try and see if either case you still end up with the white lines.

also, does this happen during anything else, i.e. watching tv (cable, dish or ota) gaming or anything else video and video with hdmi?

I am having the same problem with my Sony S350, it started very recently and only happens with blu-rays - DVDs still seem to be playing fine. I haven't made any changes or messed with the cables lately, in fact when I first noticed it the other night, I just assumed there was something wrong with the blu-ray disc I was watching (rental but brand-new on release day).
