Default What other Marlon Brando films are out on blu-ray besides Superman and The Godfather?

I just finished watching Superman: The Movie for the first time in like 20 years, no kidding! Whenever I thought about this movie over the years Marlon Brando's performance in this movie always sticks out in my memory.

So what other movies do we have available on BD from the greatest actor there ever was besides The Godfather and Superman:The Movie?

Also I have one question for Paramount Pictures......>>>Where in the h*ll is Apocalypse Now at!?!? GET ON IT!!

To the best of my knowledge, those are the only two Marlon Brando movies on Blu-ray. Much like you said in your post from above, I'm anxiously awaiting Apocalypse Now much like you are - as are many others.

I'd also love to see One-Eyed Jacks, A Streetcar Named Desire, and On The Waterfront eventually make their way to Blu-ray as well.

Well, technically, Marlon Brando also appears in a cameo in Superman Returns, even though it's made up largely of footage from the original Superman.

Mutiny on the Bounty may become one of the next Brando movies to be released on blu-ray, since it had previously been released on HD-DVD and presumably the same video transfer can be used for blu-ray (or maybe they can make it look even better).

I will pass on Brando's Mutiny as I've tried watching it twice and could not get thru it. His Fletcher was too flamboyant for me and I just admire Laughton as Bligh so much.
And all I can think about with Superman was that Brando wasn't in it that much, and got 8 million for it. I also realize he was the big name in the film, but IMO Christopher Reeve should have gotten top billing as the movie was titled SUPERMAN not SUPERMAN'S FATHER!

Maybe the next Brando blu could be The Score....but Amazon doesn't have a date for that listing yet.

In which Brando had almost a third of the movie's screentime (which explains the high salary for the first movie, which was supposed to cover both), but was negotiated out of the Lester cut.

For some reason, I'd thought "The Freshman" and "A Dry White Season" had made it to Blu by now, but seems I was mistaken.
If this was a non-Blu thread, there'd be a lot more recommendations to make, but we're limited by content.

Because Brando is one of the greatest actors of all-time and a 2-time Oscar winner. And Reeve was basically an unknown at the time he did Superman. The word great is in the wrong place.

It was a no-brainer to put Brando first.

I can't believe this was a serious question.
It was SUPPOSED to be hitting with the Sarcasm bat , but that's what happens around here.

I agree, Superman: The Movie (1978) was basically Christopher Reeve's first movie.

A name like Brando in a movie basically guaranteed the movie would have a shot.
At the end of the day though Christopher Reeve did a fantastic job and his performance as Superman will never be trumped, end of discussion.

And also because he was paid the most money. They gave him a TON of cash just to play that small role.

Some 2 and a half years ago Penton referenced Sony's restoration and 4k scan of On the Waterfront...sure would like to see that on BD sooner rather than later, but I'll be happy to see it whenever it surfaces.
