Hi,
i just picked up my samsung bd-p1600 blu-ray player tonight and am trying to configure the wireless network. When i go to select the access point, it acts like its going to load the window to select the wireless network, then nothing shows up... it just sends me back to the main network configuration screen. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank You |

I set one of these up the other day. I think it needs some USB wireless adapter that is not included.

Wireless Ready mean that it's 'Ready' to receive wireless. Basically it have the chip for wireless, but the antenna is missing. Samsung will sell an antenna separatly for an unknow price. The BDP 3600 already come with the Antenna packaged in. Another machine that is 'Wireless Ready' is the Xbox 360. It has the hardware but the antenna is sold separatly.. It's the same thing as when the first HDTV were out. HDTV Ready mean that the device had HDTV inside, but no HDTV Tuner to decode Cable, Antenna satellite. |

I think this one has specifically been reported to work. The ethernet port on the unit is plugged into the player using a ethernet patch cord available for $0.85 from www.monoprice.com. This completely bypasses the internal wireless circuitry of the BD-P1600 and uses the ethernet port rather than the USB port that the internal circuitry uses. I bought my adapter (Samsung WIS09ABGN LinkStick Wireless LAN Adapter) from Amazon for $79.99 + tax (free shipping). Problem is I can't get past the gateway ping setup. I have a 2wire AT&T wireless router, but can't figure out how to set it up to work properly. I tried the adapter on my TV first and it works great, but switched it over to my p1600 and it just won't connect to the network on it. Will take any suggestions.
