Default Good stores in Stockholm for Blu-ray?

I'll be going to Stockholm in July and figured I might as well do some Blu-ray hunting. I'm primarily interested in Swedish movies, and know for sure I'll be getting Let the Right One In and both Arn titles.

So, any locals or people who've visited Stockholm care to recommend some stores for me? I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say even if you don't know whether they have a particularly good Swedish movie selection. I figure I should branch out from just hitting Ahlens like I usually do.

Thanks.

KM

I suggest buylando. Pretty cheap and they have a pretty big BD section. There are 2 buylando's that i know of. One in Fridhemsplan and one in abrahamsberg. Just take the subway. I got all the arn titles and let the right one in from there.

I would recommend the media markt stores, they have great selection and good prices. The drawback is that their stores is not in central Stockholm.

Then we have Åhlens, wich is a big dept store in the middle of the city, they have a good selection but they are veeery expensive!

Thanks for those reccos. I'll have access to a car when there, so no worries on the stores not being downtown or on the subway line.

And yeah, I know about Ahlens being mucho expensive, that's why I thought I'd try expanding my horizons this time around.

Yes Media Markt is a good store, south of Stockholm. Near IKEA kungens kurva.
You also have on-off and Siba.

Both- Tempelriddaren and Riket vid vägens slut, has a very good PQ
Is clear sharp and nice blackness.
Widescreen 2.35:1 16x9 and DTS-HD MA. The sound is ok i think part 2 has a better sound.

Have you been to Stockholm before ? and when will you arrive ?

I've been many times, but not for a few years now. My brother lives there, but he's not into home theatre at all, and doesn't have a Blu-ray player, so he was no help regarding Blu-ray stores. I'll be flying in on the 21st.

How does the pricing at Buylando and Media Markt compare to those at discshop.se?

Oh, and another thought: all the mentioned stores are chains, some larger than others, but are there no smaller independent stores with good selection and pricing?

I know that often the chains have better pricing because of their purchase power, but at least here in Canada you'll sometimes see smaller indie stores pricing their product just above their own purchase price, just to try to get customers through the door.

Oh, and what about previously viewed? Both the big rental stores here (Rogers and Blockbuster) have decent pricing on previously rented out movies. Is that not something that is done in Sweden/Stockholm?

Thanks again for everyone's input.

KM

Sadly theres no smaller stores in Stockholm,Because blu-ray isn't so big in Sweden yet.
Most people i know buy blu-ray from UK or USA. it's cheaper and the new movies comes out faster.

I dont know any place that sell previously rented out movies.

Before I leave this lonely planet, one of my desires is to visit the STAMPEN club where Arne Domnerius and his mates recorded Jazz At The Pawnshop. It is my all-time favourite jazz record (actually I have all 3 of them...released in Canada as Jazz At The Pawnshop 1 then 2 and Good Vibes.). And on vinyl to boot! LOL

Nothing to do with this conversation, but I just wanted to mention it.

Had to postpone the trip by a little bit. Leaving this Thursday though. Via Reykjavík, which is going to be kinda cool. I won't have time to leave the airport or anything, but still.
