Default No More Jurassic Park 4?

Quote:
Producers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy just revealed at today's junket for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button that plans have fallen through for a fourth entry in the "Jurassic Park" franchise.

When asked if there was any development on the long-anticipated sequel, Kennedy responded, "No... I don't know. You know, when Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that's it. Maybe that's a sign that we don't mess with it."

Since Joe Johnston's Jurassic Park III in 2001, Universal has been developing a fourth outing in the successful franchise. The studio commissioned William Monahan and John Sayles to pen a script in '04.

Wonder when the blu's will be announced. My guess was they'd coincide with the 4th movie release.

Very disappointing news, indeed, but maybe it's for the best.

If I was selfish, I'd think this was good news. But Blu Titan is right. This would have been great for the kids.

I would've hated and loved to see this:

Quote:
In July 2003, Monahan completed the first draft, with the story no longer set in the jungle.[16] Actor Sam Neill said he was returning as Dr. Alan Grant, with filming expected to begin in 2004 in California and Hawaii.[17] In September 2004, screenwriter John Sayles was re-writing the script, with the film re-slated for a winter 2005 release.[18] His second draft focused on the new character Nick Harris, who returns to Isla Nublar, the location of the first film, and retrieves Dennis Nedry's can of frozen embryos. He is captured by the Grendel corporation, which now owns InGen, and he is hired to train five genetically modified Deinonychus as mercenaries.[19]

Morbid curiosity would make me see this. The movies got SO progressively worse, I can't even imagine the possibility of one worse than part 3................

Where there's a will, there's a way.

As much as I'd also like to see a JP4. I just don't know where they can go with a story. This may be the exception where we leave good enough alone.

highly agree. id see it because it has "jurassic park" attached to the title, but that's the only reason why. it would be great if they could bring back as many of the original cast as possible, sort of like what they're doing with fast and the furious 4. at least then id guess many more people would opt to see it.

Jurassic Park was my favorite movie as a kid. Honestly after I saw the third movie I really hoped that they wouldn't make anymore. But if they can come up with an interesting story, and something different, I could get interested. Jurassic Park got me into dinosaurs.

yeah that's pretty much how I felt. With the original being one of my favorite movies ever, it left me shaking my head.

I'd entertain watching IV if the third could somehow be erased from my memory.

I really don't remember the 3rd one being THAT bad. I mean sure it could have used more time to develop the story, but I have seen worse movies.
