At least we're slowly starting to see some costs come down, in general.

That being said, I'm not sure who would buy this particular product and why, given these limitations.

I'd say people that want a "cheaper" blu-ray player might consider this. Blu-ray burning isn't really price competitive yet, so its probably not that bigger issue. But with Pioneer's new drive just around the corner, and $200 cheaper, its probably not the best buy.
