escape from new york may 10 2011 release.what are the differences between this version and the mgm one?same transfer or new tranfer?

I don't have a definite answer but my guess is that they are dumping the DVD that came with it. There are a slew of Fox reissues that are doing just that. Same BD just not DVD copy. This is my guess.

other fox release on that date come in a digibook, so maybe a
digibook re-release?

Both are probable guesses

Either way, if you already own it, don't bother unless you just have to have a digibook (if there is one).

If they add any special features onto the blu-ray disc for this release I will have to rebuy it.
