Default Does your iPod tend to play the same artists in "Shuffle All" mode?

I know this is an awesome thread to start...

But I'm sitting here with the old iPod doing shuffle all with about 5,000 songs, and I keep getting the same artists (Led Zeppelin) over and over again. Granted, they're great, but it just seems weird to me.

Out of the 5,000 songs probably 50 are Led Zeppelin and I've already had about 15 of the 80 songs played be them.

Flame on!

That's odd. My Ipod has about 1000 songs and I always have it in shuffle mode and I never have had this happen. I've got several artists with numerous songs and I haven't ever noticed an overabundance of songs from one artist.

I've never noticed that either and I only have 400 songs on my iPod.

Now it's happening with George Harrison. I only have 3 albums, and have probably heard 8 songs already.

Normally if I'm at work, I'll make a 100-song playlist and hit shuffle but even then, yeah, it'll replay the same artists. But what I want to know is how you all come up with all that music. My itunes, not even my iphone, has only 707 songs on it. I need more music.

16 years of collecting CDs and digital files (legally!) for me did the trick. I have something like 500+ CDs, though not all are on my iPod. Then I have 100s of digital files.

All makes up 4824 songs on my iPod currently.

I 'd been collecting CD's for only about 10 years now but I haven't put them all in, you just grow out of things you know. I might be able to get to 1000 songs if I put them all in.

Sort of... my player tends to play Dream Theater along with Queen and Pink Floyd and a couple other Japanese rock bands quite alot... of course, their music consists of over 1/3 of my music library (around 3500 songs).

You listen to your iPhone in class?

Do you also send text messages while driving?

You can adjust the shuffle characteristics of your Ipod to make it less likely or more likely to play songs by the same artist.
