Default Point Break Remake In The Works

This is about the saddest thing I've heard in a long time, How do you remake this movie.. it came out in 1991 for starters and was great in everyway possible!

ugh heres the link

Quote:
Though the 1991 surfing/action film "Point Break" was only a modest hit theatrically, its pop-culture cache has grown over the years, thanks lately to both the hugely-popular touring reality-play "Point Break Live!" and its status as a running joke in Edgar Wright's 2007 cult favorite "Hot Fuzz".

Now the Kathryn Bigelow-helmed original is being remade by Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment, with producers looking to begin the search for a director in the very near future based on a script by "Salt" screenwriter Kurt Wimmer. Alcon co-founders Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove reportedly secured rights to the original movie on the 20th anniversary of its release.

Jeez. Poor Patrick Sawzye.

In 3-5 years all of his movies will have been remade.

It is just a matter of time Roadhouse gets remade starring Justin Timberlake ot Justin Bieber...

I actually really enjoy this movie.

I love Point Break. Stop remaking movies and come up with more originals please! Besides, Point Break was already remade with a few changes. It's called The Fast and the Furious.

Gunna be in 3d too right?? come on Hollywood. Enough with the remakes. Does this particular story actually have to be remade?? So in like 10 15 years from now, are the new movies coming out now going to be remade. Geez

Forget surfing with a dash of skydiving though, apparently that stuff is just too wussy. This new version will be set in "the world of international extreme sports" but won't specify what those sports are.

Good/successful movies are the only movies that Hollywood has any interest in remaking. The idea is to make money off of an idea that has already worked. Remaking a movie that sucked wouldn't make sense.

You may have come up with a good thread idea though if it doesn't exist already. Movies that sucked, but could be good if remade the right way.

The Departed, The Magnificent Seven, Ben-Hur, The Maltese Falcon, The Man Who Knew Too Much, A Fistful of Dollars, True Lies, 3:10 to Yuma, Cape Fear, The Champ, Heat, Scarface, Insomnia, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), Let Me In and The Ten Commandments (1956) disagree with you.

Awesome, I've always wondered how Point Break would turn out with Taylor Lautner as Johnny Utah, Paul Walker as Bodhi, and Vanessa Hudgens as Tyler--and in 3D!!!

Who's gonna play Pappas? Jamie Foxx??!

I should have said most of the times, but Bad News Bears, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Day the Earth Stood Still, King Kong, Poseidon Adventure, Psycho, Dawn of the Dead, Friday The 13th, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Omen, Prom Night, Peterpan, Agree with me

Now that I agree with! And there are a lot more stinkers than that! But I like to stay optimistic because of those rare gems that creep up out of nowhere once in a while (like True Grit!).

Well, whether a movie is "crappy" or not is a matter of opinion and there are always exceptions to the rule. The measure of success doesn't end at the box office either. A movie that later becomes successful on DVD/Blu-Ray is also a candidate for a remake. Just look at all the "cult" movies that have straight to dvd sequels.
