Default Need Help

Have a PNY GeForce 8400 GS 2.0 256MB PCIe Low Profile Video card, experiencing jittery playback only at full screen mode @ 1920×1080. Would a PNY GeForce 9500 GT 1024MB PCIe card fix this issue? Using PowerDVD9 Ultra, XP, Pent.4, 2GB DDR2.

Also:
I tried going into the video menu for PDVD9, will not allow me to deselect- "Use Nvedia accelerator".

Any help?
Thanks

If possible I would suggest upgrading the cpu and memory first. 3bg of memory could go a long way further than a new video card. The 8400GS should be sufficient for blu-ray playback, but your older pentium may not be assisting the gpu enough.

The issue is my motherboard only takes up to a 3.2gh processor, and 2gb memory. As of now, I'm looking for something that adverts the purchase of a whole new system. I thought the higher Video memory of the 9500 might calm the palyback down enough to watch at full screen. its wierd though, if I stretch the window to fill up the screen, it's fine. As soon as I double click the picture for full screen mode it starts the jitters =)

It's possible that a new video card could reduce this or eliminate it, but most of the video cards handle blu-ray playback at that resolution by offloading some of the computing to the cpu. If the cost isn't a concern, then it may be worth a try.

Good luck.

Thanks, I will try it out if none of the settings fix the issue.

The bottle neck here is your processor - you have a P4 - if its not a core2duo - you need one. That will get rid of the stuttering.

Isolated and repaired this issue, I changed the refresh rate fro 60Hz to 24Hz in the Nvidea settings. This allows the movie to play @ full resolution 1080p. Thanks for the feed back.
