Default Best HDTV for both movies AND gaming...

My Sony KDS 60A2000 is getting a little long in the tooth and I've been researching for quite a while now on which hdtv I should get next. I suppose I'll either get a new plasma or lcd but here's my dilemma. It seems that between the two technologies, I am simply trading one set of problems for another. On one side you have the higher end plasmas like Pioneer, Panasonic, and Samsung. Their downfalls are potential of image retintion and burn in, the hassle of having to break the set in, energy effeciency, etc. Then on the other hand you have high end LCD's from Sony (XBR 8 and 9's) and Samsung (the 950's and the 8000's). Their downfalls are price/size ratio, poor off angle viewing, and input lag on gaming. My question is, if I do about 50% gaming and 50% movies, which set is going to be best? I don't want the hassle of worrying about burn-in or image retintion on plasma, on the otherhand I don't want to have input lag when I am gaming. What is the less of these evils?
