I hope one day we get Return of the Living Dead II on Blu Ray. I have been wanting this movie for years. If it did get a release, which company would you want to see release it? It would love it if Shout/Scream Factory released it.

Warner Brothers controls this on home video, and they don't really license their library. So Scream Factory will not be releasing it. It will either have to come from the normal Warner Home Video line or the Warner Archives line, which seems to be more likely for this title.

It's inevitable. At some point it will be rolled out through Warner Archive. The last time I watched the film I found it to be a very stinky pile of crap, but I'd undoubtedly pre-order it immediately if it was announced. Ah the complexities of being a horror fan/film collector.

A Blu-ray (hopefully with the original soundtrack) would be great. It's honestly not a great movie, but it has a lot of nostalgia for me. I remember seeing it on cable when I was in elementary school in the early 90s. I went into school the next day telling all my friends about people throwing brains at zombies out of the back of a truck.

Yeah its not the best movie but I love it in the same way I love Troll 2 and that movie got a release. I don't know why but I have always loved bad horror movies lol.

I would like to see a release as well, but they will need to include the original theatrical soundtrack. I believe the music on the DVD was replacement music.

Its on the dvd but you have to select a different language track to hear it.

I preferred this one too. Think because I was around the kids age when this came out and could relate more. Still love the first one too.

There is a nice HDTV copy out there. Does the job until they release a blu.

Could just be a private commission, or someone like Scream Factory have got the green light (finally!) to release it. Could be a release from Second Sight who released the first film in the UK.

.... I find it irritating when people make whole threads about a movie they wish is on blu ray. That's a c0ck tease when you skim thru the forum, and see a thread with the title and it's updated and.... "Oh one day some day wish upon a star, if only, pretty please with sugar on top".... No actual Intel, sources, or news... just bullsh!t pipedreaming. Take that crap to the proper threads which has wishlists aplenty. Smh

Back in November, I had an email exchange with a Warner executive regarding this film (a guilty pleasure of mine). He stated the following:

"...we are quite aware of the strong fan interest in this film, and are pleased to let you know that an eventual Blu-ray release of the film (with its proper soundtrack) is in the offing."

IMO, the original soundtrack is terrific and the zombie effects are fantastic. They just captured the right mood and setting. It really worked for me back in 1988 and still does to this day. The film doesn't hold a candle to the original, but it is what it is.

I have the Return of the Living Dead II soundtrack CD and it is awesome. I don't remember how much of the good ol' heavy music was played on the film since I only own the VHS that I can't play any longer. I used to love most part 2 for its great humor, part 1 being too serious minded (still loving it) for me as teen and part 3 being great too but romantically sad that didn't fit my mindset for two many rewatches as part 2.
